Listen to what this kid has to say about formal education

Nothing but a lost generation of students trying to understand how to make it in the world. I over heard a few of my classmates having a conversation about the same things I think. K-12 is essential but college is some bullshit. College is not for everybody, even though society tries to make it seem essential. I will admit that after the completion of college I do appreciate and understand the value of education, but I don’t believe anyone can quench my thirst for knowledge and understanding like I can myself. I will learn on my own terms and at my own pace, because turning in assignments to teachers is pointless if I don’t understand what I am turning in. PASSING A CLASS DOES NOT PROVE YOU KNOW ANYTHING. At least the way classes are set up today. Classes shouldn’t be timed. The time restriction in my opinion is what fucks up the whole system. I recently thought to myself what does a degree mean if education never stops. My mother says its an accomplishment.. no offense mom but not all accomplishments are good accomplishments. My time has been wasted, and if I have not learned anything in these last four years, it is that time is short and time is not to be wasted. With that being said, I write this article in hopes that one day this educational system becomes efficient. I call for education reform of some sort. Something needs to change. Folks need to be taught how to sustain the economy. We need to learn about feeding ourselves, economics, and just spiritual understanding. Technology is cool and important and I appreciate those that are working on its advancement, but unfortunately it isn’t for me. Social life is essential and as an engineer, Social life can’t be maintained in order to advance...

Sooo what are you're thoughts? I don't think this is a complete thought. Sounds like the kid had a lot more to say.
